Rates

Square Inch Price

I charge 2 cents per square inch for most designs.

Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .020 = $96.

My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.

Batting

I stock Quilters Dream batting: 100% cotton, 80/20 cotton/poly blend, and 100% polyester. I can also get other types of batting (ex. wool and bamboo.) Please ask about other options availability.

Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.

I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders.  I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch.

For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I will cut 65" of the batting of your choice.
65" of 100% cotton deluxe loft @ $0.59/in = $37.05
65" of 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.35/in = $20.80
65" of 100% poly @ $0.28/in = $16.90

Thread

I stock So Fine (#50) threads. I don't charge any extra fees for thread use, it's included in your square inch price.
My personal style attempts to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt, so that the patchwork is the main focal point. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.

Shipping

Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of plastic bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.

Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number.

Other Costs

As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price.

I'm also required to collect sales tax.

Any extra services can be provided and will be charged by the amount of time that they require.

Payment

After the work is complete, I can receive payment by cash, check, or Venmo. I really do appreciate timely payments as that enables me to mail your project(s) back to you right away.
